About TrueAlly
TrueAlly is a recovery app for iPhone and Android that helps people quit porn by building new habits, not by blocking sites. It is not a porn blocker. It combines daily check-ins, a written recovery contract, short lessons and guided meditations.
Why we built TrueAlly
Many quitting tools focus on access: install a blocker, delete the app, change the password. Those steps can help, but a blocker can be bypassed, and it does nothing about the habits and urges that keep the cycle going.
TrueAlly is built around those root causes. Daily check-ins, a recovery contract you write yourself, lessons on dopamine loops and habit formation, and guided meditations all aim to build new habits you can rely on when an urge shows up.
Our approach is shame-free. We would rather help you take the next step than make you feel worse about the last one. We also favor evidence over hype: our guides cite research, say when the evidence is limited, and point you to a doctor or licensed therapist when the situation calls for one.

How we write our guides
Our guides are written by the TrueAlly Team from peer-reviewed studies and reviews, and we say so when the evidence is limited. Read our editorial standards to see how we research, correct and update them.
